Joseph C. Hood is Board Certified in Marital and Family Law since May of 1991. He confines his practice almost exclusively to the field of Marital and Family Law in the State of Florida. Mr. Hood specializes in cases such as Family Law Mediation, Appeals, Collaborative Family Law Cases, and Bar Disciplinary Proceedings. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University in 1976 and he received his Juris Doctorate from the same institution in 1979. He spent four years in the United States Air Force between 1980 and 1984. Mr. Hood has practiced law in Tampa, Florida since 1984. He is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois, the Territory of Guam and the State of Florida. He is a former member of the Executive Council of the Family Law Section for the Florida Bar as well as the Hillsborough County Bar Association. He served on a Grievance Committee for the Florida Bar during the years 1998-2000, and was chair of the committee during the last 18 months of service on the committee. He is a frequent lecturer at various seminars dealing with family law issues throughout Florida. He is a founding member of the Collaborative Family Law Group of Tampa Bay and the Collaborative Family Law Group of Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Further, he was the former Editor of the FAMSEG Forum published by the Florida Bar Family Law Section. He is also a member of the AFCC Florida Chapter and is currently practicing law as Joseph C. Julia L. Finman, Esquire
Ms. Finman is an associate attorney with the law firm Joseph C. Hood PA. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Florida in 2005. She graduated with a Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law in 2008. Ms. Finman is an active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
